Farming
I've been working on organic farms across the world since 2014. I have experience with livestock and produce, as well as post-harvest processing, such as drying and roasting coffee and pressing fruit for liqueurs. Most of my experience has been in work-share networks, such as Worldwide Opportunities on Organic Farms (WWOOF).

Dickinson College Farm
Boiling Springs, PA
A 50-acre USDA certified organic farm that services a local farmers market, Community Supported Agriculture (CSA), as well as Dickinson's Dining Hall.

As one of six full-time summer workers, I transplanted seedlings, weeded existing beds, harvested produce, and worked weekly farmers markets. I gained experience in Integrated Pest Management (IMP), composting, as well as administrative aspects of farming.
Stroud Slad Farm

A family-run livestock farm with sheep, cattle, chickens, and horses in the Cotswolds. The farm also hosted a community garden.

Through WWOOF England, I lived with and assisted the farm family in all their everyday chores, including monitoring and moving the livestock, nursing runt lambs, caring for the horses, and administering vaccinations on the livestock. I worked with other volunteers from around the world to complete these tasks, as well as maintain the community garden.
Finca de Bella
San Luis, Costa Rica
Finca de Bella, now called Bella Tica, is one of twelve organic, shade-grown coffee farms in Monteverde that form a co-op to pool resources and labor to produce the best coffee as efficiently as possible.

As a volunteer through International Volunteers HQ, I cultivated and transplanted young coffee plants, harvested cherries, dried and roasted the beans, and assisted with other farm chores. I also honed my Spanish skills and learned to work among a diverse team.
